Well! Would you Adam’n’Eve it!? He did it. He only went and did it. Even when he was two sets up and had three championship points, I feared he’d blow it. It’s not over yet I thought. And no, it wasn’t was it?
How truly wonderful for a British player to win instead of forever being the plucky gallant loser. Don’t you get tired of being tainted with the loser brush? Isn’t it lovely to actually WIN something for a change? Something that really means something and sets the whole nation on fire? And something, cough, our national football team made up of overpaid over-privileged losers seem singularly incapable of doing!
All can be champions
We call all be champions like Andy Murray. Dieters especially can take a lot of inspiration from his fight, his will, his determination to win. We too can be winners! Instead of forever gallant losers though of course in dieting terms, losing is what we want isn’t it? We want to win at losing. Well we can. We bally well can. He did it. So can we!
Trying 5:2 again
Today I have decided to give 5:2 another go. It’s far easier in Summer to eat less. Mostly we just want to keep ourselves well hydrated. Appetite tends to go. If not now when? I’m going to do it Mondays and Thursdays – days picked entirely randomly but seems fitting. Monday is the start of the week and it’s often then, especially after a holiday, we want to make a new start.
I’m doing it the Paleo way though. High protein – VERY high protein! – cos that’s the most filling way to go. I began this morning with a one-egg omelette (medium-size egg coming in at 72 calories, I know this cos it said so on the box) with bacon served with tomatoes and mushrooms. Around 150 calories in all. Lunch will be a sausage (145 calories) with mushrooms and tomatoes and tea/evening meal chicken salad.
I’m going to do this for three weeks as a trial to see if I can and I’ll report back on it. My next weigh-in is on August 1st – the exact six-month point since I began this. And I want a respectable loss. This might help but we’ll see. I think Monday and Thursday as my ‘2’ days, ie days when I semi-fast, should work well. Spacing the food out during the day should also mean I don’t ever feel too hungry. As I’ve said many times before on this blog, I don’t like going to bed hungry or allowing myself to get too many hypoglycaemic symptoms. Not good!
If I can do it!
But if I can do 5:2, anyone can. Save for those with health and other reasons, obviously. I feel quite excited about embarking upon this. Doing 5:2 but doing it the Paleo way might be the real winner. The best way to unlock weight loss without feeling overly deprived. A combination of two weight loss plans.
And Andy’s win has really inspired me. I’m sure I’m not alone in this. I hope his victory unlocks many more for many others, not just Brits but all over the world.
Take a hat!
Have a lovely Monday. Enjoy the sun, if you can, but be careful out there! Seriously, sunburn and heat exhaustion aren’t pleasant things to get. Take care and most of all, take a hat!
See you again soon. And thanks for sticking with this.
