I had no idea my influence was so great! On Monday I wrote about Christmas in June. As in, why not have it then instead of December when it’s cold, dreary, dull and dark? And then what happened? Christmas trended on Twitter!
All thanks to me! What other great ideas could I get going on Twitter? All right all right. I know. It trended on Twitter yesterday because it was the exact six month point before Christmas. Pure coincidence that I wrote about it the day before. But, that said, clearly I have my finger on the pulse of the nation if not the world.
What the world needs now
So what does the world most need to hear from me next I am wondering… what zeitgeist can I plug into today? As in you read it here first, tomorrow it’s all over the world. I am thinking of writing a book. No, don’t yawn. Idea only came to me today. I know there is a glut of diet books out there already and who needs another one, right?
But I thought mine would be different and yes yes yes, I know. They all say that. But I thought I’d write about what fun dieting can be, yes, FUN! Enjoyable. A hoot even. Because I am having fun. Lots of it. In fact, truly, this diet is just about the only fun I’ve had in My Shit Year So Far.
Experimenting with diets
I’ve had fun experimenting with diets. I’ve tried Paleo. I am still trying Paleo. But let’s face it, my kind of Paleo isn’t the kind you usually read about in books dedicated to Paleo. I can’t do anything without modifying it, changing it so’s it suits me better.
My partner is same. He can’t buy anything without taking the back off it and moving things around. He’ll even modify screwdrivers or torches. Anything he buys, he alters, changes. Makes it so it’s bespoke.
Well that’s what I’ve been doing. I’m not so much Paleoing to the Max as doing a bit of Paleo mixed with a bit of a few other diets too. Yesterday I talked about skipping lunch as my version of the 5:2 semi-fasting diet. And that went brilliantly well thanks for asking. Sausage and one-egg omelette with mushrooms and tomatoes for breakfast. Couple of Babybels and a slice of ham at lunch then steak, mushrooms and green beans for tea.
Today I am working on a plan to follow Paleo but with added chocolate! I’ve been having the chocolate cravings something rotten and I think it’s probably because I talked about Christmas on Monday. Christmas means chocolate, right? I wonder if there’s a Christmas diet I could invent. A Christmas chocolate diet?
Diet, what diet?
Well whatever I am doing, it’s working. Bit more has come off the waist and the hips. Even the tummy at last! On Saturday visiting family I hadn’t seen for five months the loss was, I’m told, very noticeable. My clothes are loser on me. I am losing weight and happy. It’s the only thing I am happy about right now but how about that? When everything else seems to be falling apart, perhaps being on a diet is the one thing that can keep you going?
So I thought that might make a good title. Diet! What Diet? How I lost three stone on something that didn’t really feel like a diet cos the food was so delicious and it was so much fun.
Would you read it?
