My blog looks a little different today. That’s because it’s now been archived and is open for comments. So looks more like a conventional blog I am hoping.
I’m scared I won’t get any comments and I’m scared I will. Oh well. You have to give people the chance to slag you off if you’re gonna blog. I’ll be pre-moderating but won’t delete anything critical unless it’s unnecessarily abusive.
Will keep this short as it’s kind of a test piece to make sure it’s all working. We still have thick snow outside here in the Staffordshire Moorlands and that’s likely to curtail my birthday plans for tomorrow but never mind. Can always find another day to eat cake! Does cake taste as good on a day that isn’t your birthday though?
Cold but optimistic
I’m feeling cold – much like everyone else in the UK today – but optimistic. This weather will spoil many people’s Easter plans and I’m sorry about that but it can’t last! It’s March not November. We won’t have snow for much longer and it WILL warm up. Spring will come. Eventually.
So let’s just hold onto that and make the most I say. For a dieter, the cold weather can be treacherous because you’re tempted to eat more for warmth and for comfort. This for me hasn’t been a problem because there’s hardly any food in the house! Yesterday I had a cooked breakfast, a slice of cheese with tomato for lunch and then some chicken cooked in butter and spices and that was it! I’m too frit to go out in the ice as falling and breaking my wrist would mean I can’t work. And that’s very serious when you’re self employed.
My beloved is happy to fetch food for me but I’m getting such rotten cabin fever that I am going to venture out soon. I realise I’m not truly housebound and much sympathy for those who are. Must be really horrible not to be able to step outside your front door whether the reasons are psychological or physical. Or just weather related.
But I’ll have a go. I miss shopping for favourite food. If you don’t hear from me again, you’ll know why. Thanks for following the blog. Just need to add Google Analytics now and I’ll have some idea how many (or not!) there are of you.
