So I’m back from my London trip and I took my new best friend Paleo with me. How did I do? Not at all bad thanks for asking. Apart from an ice-cream at the theatre (surely de rigueur?) I pretty much stuck to it. Where protein was available without carbs, for example my hotel served a very nice chicken satay as a snack, I had that. Where it wasn’t, I ate the protein and left the carbs, for example when eating a burger.
Hungry – watch out!
The first pitfall came just an hour or two after I arrived. I was meeting some family members in the bar of my hotel and afternoon tea was being served. Sandwiches piled on three-storey cake stands. Cakes. Icing. Pastel shaded sugar all around me. And I got hungry. I wasn’t sure what the food arrangements were going to be and I didn’t want to be rude but in the end, I had to eat.
